Wreaths are usually my go-to door decor… but I decided to switch it up a little for Valentine’s Day this year and make this little beauty! Yes, I am absolutely one of those people that changes out my wreath/decor on my front door for every season and every holiday. It’s just kind of my thing. I made this DIY X-O-X-O Valentine’s Day Burlap Bow Door Hanging in under an hour and with only a handful of supplies.
Supplies to make your own DIY X-O-X-O Valentine’s Day Burlap Bow Door Hanging
- 6 inch burlap ribbon
- 3 inch complimenting burlap ribbon
- wood heart frames
- a decorative ribbon to go around the frames
- a decorative ribbon for mini bows and for hanging loop
- hot glue gun
- printed x-o-x-o
- sewing machine (optional)
I bought these cute little wood heart frames at Hobby Lobby and just popped the back stands off so they would lay flat on my burlap ribbon. Next, I printed “x-o-x-o” and cut them out to put in my frames. Then I took some loop ribbon that I already had and hot glued it around my frames.
Next, I laid the striped burlap ribbon on top of the red ribbon and ran it through my sewing machine. You could probably get away with skipping this step, but I’m pretty handy with a sewing machine and I figured it would help hold it all together. I also sewed a loop of ribbon at the top to hang it from. You could just hot glue the loop on if you don’t have a sewing machine.
I found this decorative Valentine’s Day ribbon at Michael’s and made 4 small bows with it. This same ribbon was also used on some of my DIY VALENTINE’S DAY WOOD + FELT ARROWS too!
I made a big bow to go at the top of my DIY X-O-X-O Valentine’s Day Burlap Bow Door Hanging and hot glued it on the main burlap ribbon strip.
Pretty easy… right?! Since I already had some of the ribbons on hand, I spent less than $15 on this DIY X-O-X-O Valentine’s Day Burlap Bow Door Hanging. I am absolutely in love with it!
